140 years ago, Lord Lambton gave £5000 so that
St George's Church could be built to serve the mining communities of this area.
The world and church has changed a lot since then.
We are creating something to continue his vision through the 21st and into the 22nd Centuries.
Your support will enable us to serve more people today and leave a legacy of community facilities for the generations to come.
Over £900,000 has already been given.
Work has started on the main annexe.
We now need to raise the final £20,000-£30,000 to complete the whole project.

Every penny we receive will be spent on this project and go to serve this community.
Most people do not realise that the local church is funded entirely by gifts and payments from local people. Your support is essential for the community work we do. While we do hope that some will give larger donations (we have had 2 bequests of over £10,000 already), if we have 100's of regular gifts of just £2.50 or £5 a week for 2, 3 or even 4 years, we will soon reach the total needed.
The most cost effective way to give regularly is through completing a standing order form and sending it to your bank (or by setting up a regular standing order by internet banking). If you are a tax payer, by completing a gift aid form your gift is worth 25% more. Please fill one in and send it to us, either by e-mail or post. All details are on the gift aid form below.
